Can someone tell me why it is if you are from 40-64 and getting a break from the ACA you are a leech. But if you are over 65 and on Medicare you are a hero and the $9,000 subsidy you are getting from the government is richly deserved?
When everyone has access to the same plans (no "special rates for employers") then things will be real. Until then we are living with a two tiered system that is doomed.
The company I retired from is still giving good heathcare to current employees as well as pre-medicare retirees. If you want employees to stay around you need to offer good bennies.
Bingo. We would not even think for a second of not offering better than average (by far) coverage.

Are you really this ignorant?
Maybe if you did some research on the subjects at hand you wouldn't ask such ignorant questions.
I'll give you 1 hint. People PAID for medicare through out their careers and IF they take out Medicare part B,C,D or medicare Advantage, they PAY for it. It is NOT FREE.

He can't write a post without bringing up some combination of Medicare, Tricare, Veterans Affairs, "Republicans", the TEA Party and mobility scooters. Virtually every post he writes - regardless of the topic - includes complaining about one or more of the above. That's why I put him on ignore.
My employer has firmly stated that they will not change, reduce or drop our coverage. We have great coverage which is free to the employee, unless they add a spouse and/or children to their plan in which case we pay premiums on them.
I think it would be nice if our nation could provide some kind of very basic coverage to every citizen. But I also think they really bungled the attempt. Everything about Obamacare from what I've heard, is horribly broken.
It's not "free". You have to earn 100% of it, no matter how much it is.
The ONLY reason that Canada is able to negotiate those low prices is because the U.S. (a country with 10x the population, and a drug market that's 10x larger) picks up the slack. If the U.S. went single payer, you'd see drug prices drop a little, but Canada would no longer be getting the prices they're getting now. THEY would be paying full retail, and WE would be getting the discount, but it wouldn't be anywhere near what they're currently enjoying.
That's right because only the US create medicines, performs R&D etc. All modern, civilized nations negotiate drug prices, except the stupids, the gullible and the hustlers.
You and whoever wrote the article don't know the difference between 'dropping health insurance' and 'consider reducing health benefits' in their plans.
This is nothing new. Higher deductibles, copays, co-insurance and premiums for less coverage are coming. Along with reduced hours, more part-time rather than full-time employment.
