Lawyers are pitching state attorneys general in 16 states with a radical idea: make the food industry pay for soaring obesity-related health care costs.
It’s a move straight from the playbook of the Big Tobacco takedown of the 1990s, which ended in a $246 billion settlement with 46 states, a ban on cigarette marketing to young people and the Food and Drug Administration stepping in to regulate
Back when I was young, my brother had a cartoon cut out of some magazine...
It had 3 panes, labeled as "the three economies".
1. Was people out gathering food.
2. Was a factory churning out goods
3. Was a casino full of gamblers.
We've stopped feeding ourselves, we've stopped making things, and now the government (and liberalism in general) thinks prosperity is about taking from one to give to another.
Huh, lawyers campaigning to get more money in their pockets...of course they are going to try that. It's not a gian evil conspiracy, it's just greed. What do you expect from a group of lawyers?

This has the three legs to the stool liberal progs love to squat on.
It's got the hated, and evil corporations
It's got other people's money that government can write new laws and just take it
And it's got people who can be exploited and made into victims
The question is, will this become a new political issue the politicians will create to divide the nation and use as an excuse to take more money away from the people?

perhaps its time to follow the communists and kill all the lawyers.
When I hear conservatives say "the government" I understand they mean the democratic president because of course the have nothing against their own politicians, who are also a part of our government.
Of course "conservatives" believe that their politicians are against "the big government" forgetting that these are the same politicians who, for instance, are for regulations that prohibit car manufacturers from selling directly to the public so we all have to pay the middleman, which is car dealerships. Conservatives also forget why do we even have a strong federal government which is because the states were drowning in economic chaos because they were each printing their own money and imposing their own tariffs. Conservatives also forget that such independent in spirit states like Texas, practically begged to become part of the union because they were drowning in debt as an independent country.
There many, many myths that conservatives love to believe while they have no idea what exactly is going in this country.
Sad.
