They do care about 20 million, just as all smart corps do. The 100 million will most likely be capitalized over 20 to 30 years..an expense annually of , at most 5.5 million. That means a 20 mill writeoff equals 4 years of the expense they are incurring in Alabama. You can also bet NY incentives are tied to headcount, just as Bama's are.

I think it's an odd time to relocate a gun business, now that gun sales have peaked and are dropping dramatically, but New York's taxes are very high, and their cost of labor is very high, so it sounds like a financial decision more than anything.

Sporting Shotguns will still be produced in NY along with some small arm ammo.
All military grade arms will be produced in Alabama.
Didn't Alabama just tell the feds that the 1934 firearms act was no longer applicable in their state?

I'm curious has anyone seen stats about Remington's size, as they strike me as much more labor intensive than most. Sturm Rugers sales are 648 millin, with just 1,441 employees. Remington has 1,400 in NY. Is that one product line alone 600 plus million?
