"Significant weather conditions across most of the country led to a decline in buyer traffic last month,"
"Builders also have additional concerns about meeting ongoing and future demand due to a shortage of lots and labor."
So Obama can now directly affect the weather and land with his "radical socialism?"

That's amazing!

Honestly though, I think this must be a parody. No one can be this silly.

What specific economic policies have caused this decline?

The article mentions the following as factors:

""Clearly, constraints on the supply chain for building materials, developed lots and skilled workers are making builders worry," said the home builder association's chief economist David Crowe. "The weather also hurt retail and auto sales and this had a contributing effect on demand for new homes.""

Did you read beyond the headline?

Weather and supply chain issues, lots and labor, are the reasons being cited by this trade association.

Then there's the combo of tighter lending practices including larger down payments, prices jacked up by builders and continued lack of confidence in the housing market.

Builders were extremely confident during the housing bubble when just about anyone with a pulse could qualify for a mortgage.

Not even remotely likely. Some people blame everything on the one person they hate, no matter how much influence they actually have in it. I am waiting for the thread complaining about a sock missing and how it is Obama's fault.

That's almost an understatement...people could have been just still warm. I knew more than one person who would at best qualify for financially incapible, and each qualified for interest only mortgages on decent sized homes. Let alone flippers that would buy, and sell homes, almost as quick as they could close.

As a reference, anyone who refers to Obama as a "radical socialist" can be ignored.

Did you read the article--where is Obama mentioned? Maybe a broader view of sources might be helpful. Most blame it on weather and prices. Doesn't this belong in the real estate forum?

You people are missing the point.

The OP is showing off her skills at 'cutting and pasting', from another website.

The little statement about Obama is simply showing that she is also developing some typing skills, rather like typing "the brown fox jumped over the lazy dog' or such. "Obama" is rather a difficult word to type, as some posters continually show.

Anyway, once the OP finds employment that pays money for cutting and pasting, she is set. Reading the actual article linked to is not, at least she hopes, a requirement.
