Parents get mad at school for rewarding straight “A” students with pizza party | Ben Swann Truth In Media

Unbelievable. Obviously the article says nothing partisan or political, I'll admit it. But this sort of mindset is straight out of the left's playbook.

Liberalism and Political Correctness is responsible for making our society into over sensitive sissies.

I doubt that "A" students do it because of a dance and a pizza party reward. When did schools start doing this and going beyond the traditional awards ceremony?

this isn't a right or left mindset issue. I wouldn't doubt there were some conservatives parents of children who didn't get invited to the party were upset their children felt excluded.

And yet you couldn't resist the opportunity to attack the left.

Awards ceremony? Um, kids are expected to pass their classes. How about rewarding them by moving them into the next grade next year instead?

But what happened here is the exact opposite of what conservatives always complain about--i.e. that schools supposedly pander too much to students' self-esteem. In this case, the school had no problem excluding kids from the party if they didn't get straight As. How is that an example of "the left" at work?

It seems parents and kids these days are getting way too sensitive about the smallest of things. When I was in the 5th grade, back in 1997, I scored a 100% on the States/Capitals map exam and was rewarded with pizza. I think there were like 8 or 9 kids from my class, the remaining 20 or so kids just went out played like they did during any other recess. Apparently this would be taboo with today's parents, what a joke. Also, for whoever mentioned award ceremonies, we always had assemblies where kids were presented with certificates for being on the honor roll or merit list, hell there were even certificates for perfect attendance.
