19F – The Night Venezuela Finally Imploded | Caracas Chronicles

The Game Changed in Venezuela Last Night – and the International Media Is Asleep At the Switch | Caracas Chronicles

Quote:
What we have this morning is no longer the Venezuela story you thought you understood.

Throughout last night, panicked people told their stories of state-sponsored paramilitaries on motorcycles roaming middle class neighborhoods, shooting at people and storming into apartment buildings, shooting at anyone who seemed like he might be protesting.
You have to wonder how and why this is ignored.

Seems like a lot of countries are in the middle of civil unrest.

Because the people in Venezuela who are protesting (if any), are protesting socialistic policies similar to those the U.S. government has been slowly implementing here?

I have serious doubts that you can automatically assume blind ideological loyalty, when it's far more likely simple passivity. "Oh, south Americans killing each other again? Who's the biggest winner at Sochi?"

The conflict in Ukraine has been going on a long time, and it seems to barely be gaining traction now.

I've been keeping up..even posting threads on it.

Maduro has destroyed the country and blamed US capitalist "pigs" for doing it..not him and his policies.
He cracked down on business owners so hard they closed up shop.
Foreign investors won't go near the country now.

Inflation is over 60%.

Who is ignoring it? The media? The media is fickle and will follow whatever story that they think will be best for ratings. The government? If it's the government, what exactly should they be doing? There's currently civil unrest in Ukraine, Thailand, Bangladesh, and Venezuela amongst other countries. Regular schmoes? Regular schmoes only know and form their opinions around what they are fed. There isn't a greater mass of ignorant, ill-willed ****s than regular human beings. If I were a betting man, I would bet that Maduro is eventually going to meet an unpleasant demise.

Why? He's the one with the guns.

There's going to be a lot of unarmed ordinary people killed long before he suffers any consequences.

If you read the link, you'd know the question wasn't "why is HappyTexan" ignoring the events in Venezuela, but why is the media doing so?

Perhaps, but I'm willing to bet that undeniably failed policies and the nature of his regime will catch up to him. He's either going to get the firing squad or a permanent vacation in Cuba or Bolivia.

The MSM is but not other media.
See I read the "other media" and not the MSM.

The MSM wants you to focus on the war on women, war on min wage and war on the Republicans in Congress.
