Finally, if people had voted for a black guy as president over guilt for slavery, why did they wait until the 2000s? They could have done so a long time ago if that was the driver. Slavery ended a long time ago.
This kind of thinking privileges the votes of white people as being the "key" to President Obama winning over the votes received from of other Americans.

In essence people who think like Mrs. Bachmann are making an ignorant appeal that shows their limited thinking.

Oh "white people" who felt guilty for slavery elected the black guy as president is how this thinking goes.

This view ignores the fact that President Obama didn't get an unusually high percentage of the votes of white voters for a Democratic presidential nominee.

This view ignores the fact that Americans who aren't white played a huge role in casting ballots for President Obama that proved decisive in helping him win the presidency.

But when your default American is a conservative white American, than that nuance about American voters is lost and all you see is a majority white nation just elected a black President, so obviously white people had to be the reason he won

Correct... Run another Progressive and label them conservative and see history repeat itself.

.
Uh no. It was discovered that the left leaning editors cut out Palins coherent answers to make her not sound knowlegable on issues. If you look at the uncut transcript of her interviews, especially the one with Charles Gibson, you can clearly see how Palin gave logical knowlegable answers and knew the issues. But leave it up to the leftist newshounds to distort her answers by by editing out bits and pieces of her sentences to make her look as though she didn't know what she was talking about. They played dirty and smeared a good governor that debated two seasoned governors (well versed in politics) 3 times on issues such as fiscal reform, balancing budgets, taxation, healthcare, oil and gas, timber and seafood industry, education and how Alaska is beneficial to the nations national interests and beat them both. Palin was a threat to Barack Obama and the media had no choice but to protect him and distort everything about her. If she runs in 2016, they won't be able to do that since she is the most vetted politician in recent history, if ever. Now when it comes to Hillary, Palin will rip her apart on her lack of a executive record at governing, lack of making policy that has been beneficial to America and the corruption she has been involved with. Palin is corrupt free and America needs a president who will take on crony capitalism in Washington.

Let's face it. Obama was a black 'token' candidate.

She lacks governing skills and has no idea about balancing budgets, exercising fiscal reforms and making judicial appointments. One person who does have those special qualities is Governor Sarah Palin who would make a fine president. She wouldn't have to learn on the job training like Obama has done due to his lack of executive experience. She is a very capable woman who had a stellar record of executive accomplishments as governor of Alaska. Like Obama, Hillary also lacks accomplishments when is comes to policy making.

Michele Bachman Under Fire For Saying America is Not Ready For Female President, Obama Got Elected Because of White Guilt
Obama was elected because of people like Bachman.

Take a third party look at the last election, Republicans put a bunch of clowns on stage. Obama had that election from the start.

McCain had a shot, until he murdered his campaign when he selected Palin. It was over then.

Clinton runs and the best Republicans bring to the stage is Ryan/Cruz, it'll be another Clinton presidency.

really? How about the idea that Obama had better ideas than the "stuck in the Mud" Republican ideals? How much more can you "lower taxes"?
Apparently "the wealthy" didn't pummel their "tax savings" or "invest" into the US economy after those "tax cuts" did they?
As for "token" Canidate? Will you say the same when Hillary is elected? Because so far all you have to look is at Arizona and the GOP politics going on there!
The GOP is a party full of old white Conservative Men and your party is dying!

This is one of the requirements for being a republican these days.

Not true at all. When he selected Palin and after she spoke at the convention, his numbers shot up and overtook Obama at the polls. But then right after that, McCain killed his shot by suspending his campaign (the first candidate ever in which Palin objected profusely) to go to Washington to deal with the TARP bailout. Add to that McCain attempted to cancel the first presidential debate which shocked republicans causing anger in the establishment. He was seen as not having his priorities straight and was too attached to Washington. Obama and the his lapdog MSM media took advantage of his blunder and labeled him a Washington insider and that was the nail in the coffin. He went downhill afterwards. If it weren't for Palin, he would have lost by many more numbers.
