Agence France Presse, Feb. 21, 2014

Another “You Knew This Was Coming” article. And, will the Obama administration settle out of court by giving them millions – while they're back in Iraq, Afghanistan, or Syria doing their best to kill more non-Muslims?

What good is it giving them millions if they are stuck at gitmo? The Admisntration could give them a billion dollars. Where are they gonna spend it...at the commissary?

Even if they were still a detainee (but arent), do you think they would be forced to sit on their money in prison, or is it more than likely that the money would go into a bank accout where others could withdraw from it?

You beat me to it. Proof that comprehension is key.

Not only is it in the thread title, but if someone took the time to read the link before commenting they wouldn't have embarrassed them self not once, but twice!

Are you suggesting torture and abuse are acceptable?

Torture violates jus cogens, peremptory norms, Customary Law, and numerous treaties like the Geneva Conventions, the Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, not to mention the US Constitution.

Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment

Those are kinda big words...would you like links to on-line dictionaries and thesauri or do you think you can man-handle an on-line dictionary by itself?

Just wondering....

I'm wondering if you even read the link.

"Plaintiffs were subjected to various forms of religious and cultural abuse," he said, adding that this included the confiscation of their Korans.

how does confiscation of Korans meet the definition of torture you just quoted?

Is this really a surprise? They should sue and they should win. Guantanamo should have been closed a long time ago. In fact, it never should have been opened it in the first place.

The Gitmo detaainees live in conditions 1,000 times better than in the countries they come from and where they were captured in the first place.
