Sometimes I feel that the larger obstacle to curbing climate change is not our oil dependence but the sheer stupidity many humans possess.
There is no way anyone can curb a natural event.

Why would you? You claim humans monkeyed with the climate. Now you want to monkey with it further to combat what you believe humans did.

Why don't all warmers cool themselves (pun intended) and let the earth manage its own climate. No matter how much money you throw at it, no matter how much you jump up and down bellowing the earth is going to melt will stop humans from doing what they damn well please. Making gasoline cost $4 a gallon will not curb anyone from driving where they please.

It was warmer in the MWP and the earth didn't melt then and if does warm a bit more, so what? All life on earth will adapt or die.

Nature of things.

What the deniers don't recognize is that global temp and the temp where they are don't have to join.

The Earth is 3/4 water. While there were record low temps in the U.S. Australia was seeing 120F degree temps. The overall average temp has been rising.

It’s time for a fishing moratorium in the High Arctic commercial fishing waters, according to Canada, which is fixing to join Denmark and the United States in the initiative. Climate change has taken hold in the Arctic meaning fishing can be done there again after 800,000 years of ice. However, leaders in these three nations don’t want to harm the area so have ruled out commercial fishing. Canada To Join Other Nations in fishing moratorium in the High Arctic | eCanadaNow

Cool. An ice-free Northwest Passage would be awesome. One has to wonder they don't want to harm the Arctic while they see nothing wrong with harming the Pacific and Atlantic.

"The deniers", MTA, are those who embrace the theory of "global warming" without definitive proof that the opposite of warming (stasis or cooling) is not occuring. It is incumbent upon those making a hypothesis to disprove the null hypothesis, not the other way around.

Given THE FACT that the null hypothesis HAS NOT BEEN DISPROVEN (the cornerstone of the scientific method), global warming remains an unproven, speculative hypothesis with many, many inconsistencies. ANYONE who believes in the scientific method and its basic tenets understands that global warming is currently an unproven theory. Only among liberals, is "global warming" conclusive, much as the treatments of bloodletting and blowing smoke up a patient's ass were considered, at one time, "scientifically proven". This, of course, before the scientific method was embraced.

Let us not go back in time to embrace bloodletting and instilling rectums with smoke in the name of poor science. Let us embrace true science and understand that global warming is far from "proven". In fact, there is reams of evidence to suggest the opposite- that man made global warming IS NOT HAPPENING!

No no. When you make a claim and point to a blog as your source, it's up to you to show that your blogger has his act together. You don't get to say you read in a fortune cookie that global warming is a hoax and then insist that we take your word for it.

And I'll take the expert view over what consitutes scientific rigor over yours. When you and your claims survive the same process real science has to survive, then you'll have shown your views have merit.

That hasn't happened yet.

???????? No, No, No ?????????:smack :

Did you not read a word I said? I am not talking about a "blog"; I am talking about the basics of science. In that regard, I mean real, actual science, not journalistic or liberal science.

It is INCUMBENT UPON THOSE MAKING THE HYPOTHESIS TO DISPROVE THE NULL HYPOTHESIS. I am afraid that is just "science 101". Of course, the scientific method does not apply to cults.

Mea Culpa- You, with no scientific training or expertise whatsoever, can and should dispel 500 years of scientific rigor and protocol. If we had it YOUR WAY, there would still be use of leeches and bloodletting for medical disorders.

Global warming is the antithesis of science, as it disregards THE CORNERSTONE OF MODERN SCIENTIFIC THOUGHT. Those who disregard this principle of science are members of "the flat earth society.
