I stand by my statement that the linked article talking about legal immigrants obtaining health insurance does not prove Joe Wilson was correct about insurance coverage for illegal immigrants.

No--Joe Wilson was extremely rude and offensive. People like him are responsible for the breakdown of civility in our society. People like him then turn around and whine about the lack of civility in our society. If a mature responsible official cannot restrain themselves in public, they should not be there.
He caught hell for it, but he was right. It appears that lawfully present immigrants no matter the number of years can apply for subsidized Obamacare. No need to pay taxes into our entitlement support systems, NO need to even be here in this country for 5 years as before. JUST PASS GO! Our country welcomes you and gives you more benefits than legal tax-paying citizens who have slaved here all of thier working lives.

Yes, I know that Joe Wilson was referring to illegals. It's still the same idea of taking from one group of Americans to pay for people who shouldn't become a public charge when admitted to this country. The eligible person is allowed to apply, not necessarily accepted. An applicant still must be between 138-400% of FPL to receive subsidized Obamacare. If they fall below that, they would qualify for Medicaid, provided that their state of residence opted to expand Medicaid. Are other countries of the world so foolish with their entitlements?

Rude an offensive doesn't make you incorrect. I also find it rude and offensive that politicians keep telling me things that are not true about legislation that has a direct impact on me - but that's acceptable.
