How about tamper proof citizen card with picture ID? A driver's license does not prove citizenship.

A DL does indeed prove citizenship. You have to be a citizen to get one. The states that are allowing illegals to get one, hopefully they are making that clear on the DL that they are NOT a citizen.

This is absolutely correct, even in uber-liberal Cali: The licenses, which are expected to become available no later than January 2015, will carry a special designation on the front and a notice stating that the document is not official federal identification and cannot be used to prove eligibility for employment or public benefits.

I think a valid drivers license or state ID card would be perfect for thwarting voter fraud. It would require swiping them at polling stations to prove validity.

North Carolina had the brilliant idea to let illegal aliens get a driver's license. And then the disease known as liberalism struck, and this happened:

"Officials originally had proposed putting a thick pink stripe on the licenses to make it clear that the holders were undocumented immigrants and not U.S. citizens.

But transportation officials changed course away from that idea, which some immigrant rights advocates said amounted to a discriminatory "scarlet letter."

Yes, we surely would not want to tag illegal aliens with a "scarlet letter", now would we?

Your question was answered by the very quote you questioned.

To fill out the full online application, you will need information from other documents, for example:

birth certificate
immigration papers
tax returns.

In MD you don't have to have, or be, any of the above.

I love how Democrats call their voters stupid and the voters will defend democrats till the end.

Ok, lets go with it. You CAN'T do what other Americans can do. It's too hard, too much to ask of you and then you expect to be treated like everyone else. I know, I know, you are so helpless you need special treatment.

Im not super high on Palin, but yet another example of media bias. Time after time, this man says that stupidest and most screwed up things, yet always gets a pass. Yet they pounced on Palin for things like not wanting to answer what she reads.
Ive long past gotten fed up with the media in this country. We will never fully recover or get better as a nation, as long as we allow the media and hollywood to continue playing their games.
