I wish Marriage would be dropped from the Government, this would all be over then.
It doesn't work that way. A Judge's job is to tule if a law is Unconstitutional or not. People can't pass Unconstitutional laws. Well they can attempt to, but if they do it will be overturned.

Good luck with that.

The will of the people doesn't trump the Constitution. Why do you all fail to understand that concept? BTW, nice join date, name, topic correlation.

So do I. It would take the focus on discrimination off of my state, Arizona, and put it where it really belongs - in the Bible Belt. It amazes me that a state that is so racist and bigoted as Texas manages to fly under the radar on it.

They won't fight back. At least not in any significant way.

The 14th Amendment and the way it is applied/interpreted has gone through over a hundred years of jurisprudence. Which is the way our legal system and Supreme Court works. They do not just look at the plain text of the Amendment and make their decision. If they did that, we wouldn't need judge, and any idiot on the internet could be a judge.

Here's an easy primer for you:

Equal Protection Clause - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Have fun.

Re: Revolutions - your rights, your life, your money has been impacted in NO WAY by an expansion of rights for your fellow tax paying citizens. Not one iota.

And you are not the majority anymore on this issue. Deal with it.

Defining something is not the same as banning something.

The Texas law and other marriage laws that unelected men in black robes have unconstitutionally ruled against all defined marriage as between a man and a woman.

That is a definition.

Too many non-critical thinkers(liberals) have fallen for this Orwelian non-speak that such laws constitute a ban.

Defining peanut butter as a union of peanuts and peanut oil does not equal a ban of jelly.

Common sense.

Your rights - at least on this issue - are not affected ONE IOTA by this judge's decision.

You are not forced to enter into a same sex marriage, and nothing changes with respect to your own marriage, or your right to get an opposite sex marriage.

The only ones whose rights are impacted are same sex couples.

Again: You are not the majority on this issue. You are a minority. A minority that likely votes at rates higher than others, but a minority nonetheless.

Also, OTHER PEOPLE'S RIGHTS are not subject to voting. You don't get to dictate how others live their lives in a free society you moralizing behaviorial socialist.

..Revolution is coming...before I die I guarantee it...Been WAY overdue.

Whatever you say dude. Don't shoot yourself in the face while playing revolutionary though. Most "Revolution" types are too old, too dumb, and too fat to pull off a Revolution. The men who led the American revolution were smart, educated folks with leadership skills.

Those calling for Revolution today are literally the exact opposite.

You're right that defining something is not the same as banning something, but you can most certainly use definitions to ban something.

If the country of Harrieristan defines civil marriage as "Only between adherents of the Muslim religion", then Harrierstan has banned all non-Muslim from marrying.
