Michelle, trying to keep her health movement relevant, is proposing changes be made by some manufacturers to the Nutrition Facts label so that consumers can be better informed. One very relevant change that the public asked for, that food be labeled if it was GMO, was shot down by Obama because of the financial burden it would put on manufacturers. So it's important to know how many calories are in your food, how much sugar, and how many servings, but you don't need to know if your food is GMO, unlike 64 other countries that do inform consumers.

Granted this change affects a small number of manufacturers, but if change is going to be required, let them include the FACT if their product is GMO or not. And if they are going to force some to change the label, force all of them to change the label to reflect GMO.

The second bold part is absolutely laughable from Mr. Obama.

Default Michelle proposes change to Nutrition Facts label - but doesn't include GMO.

If GMO warnings were labeled on foods, people would stop eating.

What would happen to all their fat?

It would go straight into the atmosphere!

There would be fat clouds.

GMO foods are untested, by design!

No one would want to see a skinny Michelle with fat clouds hanging over her.

Fat clouds don't drone well.

Oddly enough, in 2007 when he was campaigning Obama was all for informing consumers if their food was GMO or contained GMO, claiming that Americans had the right to know what they were buying.

It would be one of the very first (immediate) thing he would do as president. Check out the video:

Obama's Broken Promise on GMO Food Labeling | Mother Jones

Quote:
The ambitious senator from Illinois was no doubt sensing a popular cause. According to a 2010 poll (PDF) conducted by Reuters Thompson, more than 90 percent of Americans thought GMO-containing foods should be labeled.
Then he gets elected and gets in bed with Monsanto.

Do you really think lying about who has proposed the labeling changes strengthens your argument?
