More coalition nonsense. Europe? Europe isn't going to do anything. South America? Are you kidding? Which country in South America, the Brazilians or maybe the Argentinians?

Enroll Ukraine in NATO? Um, in case you haven't noticed, the Russians are already in.

Withdraw China as most favored nation status. Yeah. lets ding the Chinese for what the Russians do. That should go over like a lead brick.

China, and just where do you think we will get the goods that keep our economy running since we are now a consumer and consumption based economy?

A little reality here.
China isn't the only place with cheap labor.

Sorry, the Ukraine does not qualify. So all we will offer is meaningless rhetoric that will make Putin laugh.

Say goodbye to the Crimea there Ukraine, and don't forget to write.
Seems quite simple to me.

Let Crimea go with Russia.
Let the new Ukraine government go running to the IMF for money because they are broke.

The new government cannot go for much longer and said they need $4 billion (USD) ASAP.
Kiev owes Russia $1 billion alone for gas payments it hasn't made in 2 years.

If Crimea doesn't want to go with them then set them loose.
The new government already took action to distance itself from Russia and that only drove Crimea further away.

There are still plans for the United States to develop missile defense systems in Eastern Europe - that never completely went off the table.

I would agree that Obama was caught off guard, but it's rare that leaders give advanced notice that they're going to invade another country.

Bottom line, we don't need huge numbers of ground troops anymore. The military needs a big cut in the worst way.

And hopefully, it'll happen. Time to reign in our military ambitions.

Well since China has an "agreement" with Russia to kick our arse...I voted no. Does anyone think we can reduce our military and fight both China and Russia?

Obama was never "caught off guard" Obama was never on guard but busy with the lavish parties with JZ and company, golfing and living the life. He is incompetent.....and the world knows it even if the morons on the left do not.

Yes...allies.

We didn't go to Europe with the intention of helping the Soviets.

The cooperation was an aside to our chief purpose...liberation of Paris and fortifying the UK 's defenses.

I'm fine with isolating Russia economically and diplomatically, but that's as far as the US should go.

The missile system was pulled out because it was not needed, and the govs of those countries were not going to approve anyway; this also gave the US a free diplomatic win with Russia.

As Gates outlines in his book Duty, analysts determined Iranian short range missiles were going to be more of a threat, and earlier, than expected; this caused the shift from land based interceptors to sea based in the Med. The canceling of the land base systems had nothing to do with Russia.
