If Putin is a communist, why do so many of your fellow cons worship the ground he walks on?

Yes, exactly. Next thing you know he'll be asking for Finland back. And why not? It belonged to Russia until 1917.

It's quite OK for the US to stick their nose into another country's politics "in the name of freedom and democracy" but I betcha all that gets thrown out the window if any country did that to us

No kidding.

What if Canada and the US got real cozy and the US decided that Canada should manage the Great Lakes region, deciding to put the state on Michigan in Canada? Then suppose that relationship fell apart, but Canada still had good relations? Then suppose Russia started funding pro Russian Canadians to take over Canada, cause ya know cold countries got to stick together. Suppose again that Michigan wanted back in the US with former US citizens facing ethnic cleansing?

What would the US do? It would send in drones so that it would not violate international law I guess.

Yep. All of the so called leaders of the opposition called to Washington a few times a day everyday. After each small move that happened on the "maidan" they spoke over the phone with MaCain and Nuland and asked them what they should do next. Victoria Nuland discussed with the US ambassador in Ukraine who must be a new prime minister and president of Ukraine.
The coup in Ukraine was made by the US.

What's so "socialist" about Putin and Co. He's a typical right wing strong man, a mega billionaire who's made his fortune on "de-socializing" formerly common property and mineral resources of mother Russia. What's so socialist about the guy? Income inequality in Russia dwarfs that in USA, think, you should love the guy all way around.

No one on the right worships him --- but we didn't go to war against Venezuela just because Hugo Chavez was a communist. We're not at war with Cuba, nor with Communist China.

Liberals certainly don't worry about Muslim expansionism.

That is why I am here. Ukraine is not in the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation. And many lunatics around here are just dying to find a technicality to light us all up. I suppose defense contractors and funeral directors gotta eat .....

Putin is a $2 tinpot dictator/little man trying to be a new Hero to the Fatherland...basically a bully from the Cold War who needs to be put in his place - which should have happened in syria, had we in place a real president who would have recognized this obvious fact early on, but then obama is nowhere near as smart as he and his drone-like supporters think he is.

If the US/NATO were to begin a mobilization of forces, including an aircraft carrier, this would be enough to send a message to putin and he'd back down. If the US doesn't it will lead the planet to believe that the US is now a paper tiger who cannot be trusted, can easily be intimidated, and allies who depend on the US for a protective umbrella like Japan, S Korea, Saudi Arabia, etc. to begin their own massive military buildup, which will potentially lead to major wars. No one will trust the US in any treaties/agreements it signs. Obama has been one of the worst things to happen to the US in the last 75 years.
