I firmly stand with the Ukrainian people against Russian interference. This has been the favorite play in Russia's playbook since the USSR collapsed. Its happened in the Baltics, the Causcaus, the central Asian Republics.
Anyone with a simple understanding of Russian history or foreign policy would know that this would happen. Russia has kept Ukraine under a heavy watch since the Orange Revolution. It would be tremendously unlikely that Putin's has plans beyond the CIS sphere of influence. There's no precedent, historical or otherwise for it.
Obama denied it which means he does not have a simple understanding of Russian history / foreign policy. Yes this was bound to happen as I said in a previous thread.
However, war mongering with the Russia's over a country that has long been under their sphere of influence is not just foolish, its beyond idiotic. Russia is still not our most eminent enemy. That is foolish Cold War nostalgia tethered to McCarthyism and the depiction of Russia as Communist.
I do not believe anyone, democrat or republican is war mongering or has Cold War nostalgia and insinuating otherwise makes you wrong. Putin wishes to become a great power like the old days and only a fool would not proceed with an air of caution.
In fact Russia has a flat income tax, does not believe (brutally suppresses) minority rights, and severely restricts immigration into the country. They have much more in common with many in the Republican Party than they do with Obama or a "socialist democracy" like Sweden.
And theeeere it is
The biggest enemy is not Russia. It is China. Putin is not a fan of China either, despite what most people in the US seem to think. China has considerably more power at this point in my opinion, both economically and militarily.
Anyone with brains understand that China is more powerful but also understands that Putin yearns for the old days.
Yet the very same Repubs who rail against Russia are the ones supporting unrestricted trade with China.
And there it is again
Romney was not right then, nor is he now. Russia invading a small section of Ukraine does not validate his theory. It is predicated by pattern. Anyone with an elementary understanding of foreign policy would understand this.
Well he does have Al Qaeda on the run ...............right?
Yeah I wonder if he said something like, just don't bother me with stuff like that because I don't see any changes from Bush except more drone strikes. He has things like getting Billie Jean King to be America's Olympic lead to thumb his nose at Putin....now we see Putin's reaction.
We have no allies. Obama has alienated all of them.
If you say so. Did Obama tell them they`re irrelevant like Gomer Bush did?
