You are right they don't teach economics. The United States is not poor. It is broke.

NO. Nor should we be footing the bill for NATO bases in Europe.

No kidding ..... and John Kerry knows better and is acting like Putin's actions are some sort of break in Diplomatic protacol. "Putin is acting like someone from the 20th Century, doesn't he understand that Cold War stuff is soooo over."

These fools don't understand long term thinking or planning. We won't be able to Europe to join us in any sanctions because Russia controls their Gas/Oil and Obama and his Team have fought tooth and nail to make sure we don't build pipelines and don't export our excess Natural Gas and refined products.

We can't even offer to cover Europe because is not "politically correct" in the USA to produce or ship Fossil Fuel ..... so we can't help. They are totally incompetent.

Does everyone understand that the protests in Ukraine that led to the Russian invasion, all began in November of 2013? This couldn't have been a surprise, but they certainly act like they were caught flat-footed AGAIN. What are they going to do when China goes after Taiwan or Japan itself?

The news tonight is that Obama is all excited because they think they have figured out how to offer Putin an "off ramp" .... a way for Putin to walk away from his unfortunate mistake and break in diplomatic protocol. Get your popcorn.

Obama has cancelled his attendance at the G8 meeting, but I actually think this has happened before.
I wonder how many of the others will do the same?

If it's so important to the Europeans, why didn't they offer to pay for ALL of it?
Because your dear leader Obama said so. He has a pen and a phone remember?

Actually I think we give them a lot more than a billion dollars. If war breaks out in the Ukraine the EU should jump in with both feet monetarily speaking much like in Afghanistan. A billion dollars is nothing. Look at what we are paying for Iraq and Afghanistan in VA benefits? Its more like 100 billion per year.

I am conservative...and agree with you. It is past time for European countries to pay for their own defense, they are capable of doing so. It's way past time for us to quit spending our taxpayer's money to do so.

Hmmm...well ok.

That's a pretty definitive answer.
