Tell me who will build hospitals, libraries, fund cancer research, parks, and so many other things that we as a society enjoy due to wealthy benefactors who donate to these causes and help keep costs down so its affordable for others?

I used to think Americans were decent, good people then came Obama who encouraged them to show their real colors.

Didn't you take the personal responsibility to research this point yourself so you could stuff it in the liberals faces?

You could really show up those liberals if you could show proof private investment has done much more for the public good than giving money to the government...instead of making claims without any backup.

While your title is typical of the partisan tripe on here. You bring up an interesting point that tax scholars have considered for a while about the charitable deduction. The wealthy, tend to make not only smaller % of wealth gifts then the poor or middle class, but also tend to give to charitable causes that generally benefit the wealthy more then everyone else, such as the arts, pure science, and academia. On the other hand the poor and middle class tend to donate more of their wealth % wise to causes that have a broader range of access such as social services, and religious charities.

So the entire you can't tax the rich because of charity argument isn't all that good when you consider the facts.

Well, thanks for providing your sources, so we can check out your "facts" to see if what you say is true.

You really good at English

If people don't like being treated like they are stupid, especially when they know better, they should stop being stupid. Just like people who complain about being called lairs shouldn't lie, and people who steal should do so if they don't want to be called thieves. If you don't want to be treated that way...stop doing it.

Quit being so politically correct that when people point out flaws so obvious a grade school child could see it that they are just being mean. Find a better argument and actually do the research to support it. Instead of acting in a way that would get a kid flunked out of basic sciences.

It's not for my good either...stupid people acting with bad information do stupid things. Sometimes just to themselves, sometimes to other people. Hopefully a nice kick in the pants by being embarrassed for saying such stupid things will make people reconsider how they think and act.

I mean its pretty common knowledge among people who discuss it frequently but I can give you some sources if you want.
