my thought is why the obsession
about this and about race
I get sick of hearing about both!
I accept people for WHO they are not who they sleep with or the color of their skin
I do however disagree that being gay has anything to do with civil rights
I grew up in the 1960's and remember very well having "white only" and "colored only"
a black man could not even look at a white woman!
they got the crap beaten out them just for marching

I do not like it when folks try and get me to think just like them, I don't I think like me
radicals about gay folks or black folks are a big turn off for me
I don't have white guilt and I don't have to like some one just because they are gay

Gay marriage is fine to me as is gay adoption. That said I am growing tired of hearing about gays, enough already. Everytime someone comes out of the closet we are supposed to throw them a parade. And god forbid someone should state that they don't like homosexuality because then they are practically dragged through the streets like Qaddafi. (Example, that Duck Dynasty guy... he doesn't like gays, so what?) I feel they have gone past demanding rights - something they certainly deserve - and are now pushing for mainstream lifestyle acceptance. Sorry but not everyone is going to like you. Everyone doesn't like me, you don't see me crying about it.
Give them the rights they so richly deserve and you'll stop hearing about it.

Your post is a great example of why I am sick of the whole thing. I very clearly stated that I am in favor of gays getting married, adopting, and having all associated rights deserved to all. That's it, that's all you get from me. But my support isn't enough for you and instead you poo poo it like this. Sick of it.

First of all, it's not a "lifestyle".
Secondly, we've had SSM marriage here from sea to shining sea for a long time now. It's mainstream and accepted everywhere. That's why nobody makes a big deal about it any more. Nobody whines and complains about how sick they are of hearing about it. Nobody nmakes a big deal about anyone coming out of the closet. It's just not an issue any more.
I don't care who people choose to sleep with. It's not my business, and I wish the gay community would stop advertising it so much.
I don't believe in gay marriage, of course gays deserve equal rights, but they don't deserve to try and change the definition of Marriage, and they certainly don't deserve to trample and bully other people in the process (Christian Bakery incident etc...). You deserve equal rights, not special rights.
I do believe in Civil Unions though, but for everyone. I don't believe that Government should be involved in Marriage at all. Drop the word from the Government and end this whole debate.
