More insanity in the USSA.............prosecuters get all up in arms they ACTUALLY are told to follow the law. So much for a fair trial...........

"But Wilson took personal offense at Beatty’s comments. She accused him of bias and sent a letter asking him to recuse himself from criminal cases that come out of her district. In one sense, Wilson is unquestionably correct. Beatty is biased. He’s clearly biased against prosecutors who commit misconduct. But that’s a bias you probably want in a judge, particularly one that sits on a state supreme court. It’s also a bias that isn’t nearly common enough in judges. (Not only do most judges not name misbehaving prosecutors in public, they won’t even name them in court opinions.) Other prosecutors around the state jumped on, and now at least 13 of the head prosecutors in the state’s 16 judicial districts, along with South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson, are asking for Beatty’s to be recused from criminal cases. This would presumably end his career as a state supreme court justice."

Judge says prosecutors should follow the law. Prosecutors revolt.

An attitude that can be traced all the way back to the head of the Justice Dept and the US President.

Pretty much. No wonder so many folks get railroaded into jail on BS evidence.

It's par for the course. These prosecutors were just dumb enough to react the way they did. Now they are going to have to come up with some flowery BS spin to serve up to the press lest the unwashed masses realize how crooked they are.

If the judge in question had some real concerns he should talk to the bar, that's his duty as a officer of the court, otherwise chastising the entire profession is not very wise, or becoming a judge.

Liberals defending crooked lawyers...........no shock at all. Then on another thread you will scream how blacks are being incarcerated on a higher level and scream racism. Just utter inanity.

I've said it elsewhere, the problem here is prosecutors are taught to believe that their number one job is to get a prosecution as opposed to fairly upholding the law.

The problem is not what they are being taught. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that the ultimate job is upholding the law. The problem is that so many cops and prosecutors are basically foot soldiers for politician whose aim is not to uphold the law but to generate revenue, and keep people under control to facilitate that.

Conservatives outraged about something they don't really understand. What a shocker.
