Revelations warns that Christians will be persecuted more than ever in the end times. I'm certain most of us won't be in the fetal position when it becomes a widespread fact.
Yes end times does say that Christians will be persecuted and if they do not denounce their belief they will be killed. Am I correct in saying there will be a major war (gog)

Europe is a sewer? Nice sentiment--how very Christian of you.

So let me get this straight. Christians first attempt to wipe out anyone who doesnt believe as they do, murder millions for religious crimes, defend slavery, defend segregation, and continue to try and push their beliefs on us and then wanna turn around and play victim? Good luck with that.

Oh, you mean the countries that actually are more financially successful and socially free because they dont appeal so much to the religious right? And nobodies whining but Christians, like 5 year olds who cant get a candy bar at the check out lane.

Put a hundred crosses in your home. Nobody cares. People who have been persecuted in reality, such as the Jews in Germany, were not allowed to practice their religion and were publicly condemned and murdered for doing so. Whining Christians should learn the difference between actual persecution and perceived lack of influence.
You fail to mention that the severe persecution of Jews in Germany did not spring up overnight. It started in small ways, with rumor mongering and libel, then expanded to the point that it became "acceptable" to murder people of the Jewish faith. Historically, persecution is a situation that starts with small things and then grows to the point that even the most heinous of actions performed against the persecuted becomes acceptable and common place. Even slavery in the United States, which is probably one of the best examples of racial persecution, didn't start out with every Negro being a slave. It started with indentured servitude, which eventually transformed into never ending indentured servitude, which eventually led to the purchasing of humans for the specific purpose of being a slave.

As an agnostic, the entire argument over Christian values vs. secular values is somewhat counterintuitive to me. The majority of secular values, such as don't kill and don't steal, are based on Christian values, which in turn are based on common sense laws from pagan civilizations. The Christians weren't the first people to figure out that murdering someone or stealing someone else's property was a bad idea, nor were they the first to celebrate holidays at the winter solstice (Christmas) or the spring equinox (Easter).

All of that being said, I have noticed a surge in anti-Christian sentiment over the past couple of decades. Devout Christians are far more likely to be scoffed at and ridiculed today than they were even 20 years ago, normally by people who have little to no understanding of the tenets of Christianity. The Ten Commandments, which are - whether people want to admit it or not - the basis for the majority of our laws, are no longer allowed to be displayed in public buildings. Nativity scenes and Christmas trees are a no-no if they are anywhere near what could be deemed "public areas". Christian groups have been banned from some schools. The list goes on.

In fairness, however, Christians spent a large part of the past 2 millennia persecuting those who didn't share their faith. That makes it rather difficult to stand up for Christianity as a whole, or at least for the organized institutions that make up modern day Christianity.

For the TLDR crowd: Persecution doesn't magically spring up overnight, both sides of the Christianity debate are at fault, anyone who doesn't think Christians are being persecuted in today's world isn't paying attention, and in a lot of ways Christians brought that persecution upon themselves.

I am a Christian, I converted to it from Judaism, and while I think we're not under attack in the physical sense (no one is killing or arresting people for believing in Jesus), but we are under attack in the spiritual and cultural sense. I wouldn't call it persecution, that word is a bit strong, but there is certainly a growing anti-Christian attitude. And I expect it to get worse, as the Bible does speak of this.

We are living in a world where people are offended by simple Christian things, from people freaking out about kids praying in schools (its an option, not forced), to '' Happy Holidays '', to people getting upset that a TV show prays to Jesus (Duck Dynasty), people in the work place being banned from wearing crosses because it might '' offend '' somebody, express a common Christian belief of Marriage being between man and woman and they call you a bigot etc.... It's getting harder and harder to share the Gospel with people. This is al Satan's doing.

The reason for this is simple. The Bible says that those who choose wickedness are offended by the Truth. Not that I'm suggesting secular people are bad, they're certainly not. But our culture is definitely wicked, and too many people let it influence them instead of God's word.

Just like the days of Rome, we Christians are living in a pagan culture. We shouldn't cut ourselves out of it, that's stupid. But we have to remember that God is above our culture, and it needs healing. There is something seriously wrong when people get up in arms about people praying on TV(Duck Dynasty) but are say nothing about a teenage girl dancing around half naked in a vulgar way (Miley Cyrus).

Lol, what? You obviously haven't watched tv, read papers, gone online at all if you think no one had anything to say about Cyrus. People are still talking about that stupid performance.

I see people getting upset about shows with gay couples on it, porn, swearing, etc every day. So please, let's not be too biased, shall we?

Miley Cyrus is not a teenager.
Please don't share your Bronze Age superstitions with people who want no part of it.
It's about as welcomed as sharing your flu.
