I don't think that it's going to work as an Obamacare recruting tool, there could be debate as to whether or not it is demeaning for the CEO of the country (and the leader of the free world) to be plugging websites and 1-800 numbers, and there could be debate as to which of the guys sitting between the two ferns was the most entertaining..........but it WAS entertaining enough for me to sit through.
Great skit. I'd never heard of that website. I guess I'm not the target audience. Obama did a great job as the straight man, I'd like to see a Republican leader on there.
Perhaps the administration should have let Funny or Die handle the Obamacare rollout from the beginning. They appeal to the target demographic (young people) and actually know how to run a web site.
I like Galifianakis but the humor in his Between Two Ferns sketches is just absolutely awful in my opinion. But I hate super super awkward stuff. And I really, really wouldn't take anything said in this as any legitimate effort to hawk anything, its just ridiculously dumb humor

I'm with you on this. Galifianakis is even awkward at times in his movies.
I get that the president is desperate for young people to sign up for healthcare, but for him to be doing things like this -- while simultaneously changing the dates for the individual mandate -- just demeans him, as well as the Office of the President.
Politics are NOT funny, and politicians should not be promoted as celebrities. They have a serious job to do, and most of them really suck at it.

That "skit" just makes Obama look even more like what he is, petty, small, irritated at any criticism. They people who devised it were not smart. Obama is playing a skit of his worst self.
