When we came to CO in 1980, there were plenty of immigrants, legal and illegal, here. The menus at the McDonald's in some neighborhoods were in English and Spanish. That is 5 years after 1975, BTW.
How does that make it OK for her parents to have done what they did?
In 1986 when they did that amnesty, there were an estimated 300,000 illegals living in the USA. I suspect it was significantly fewer back in 1975. It wasn't all that much of an issue back then.
Even then -- no one is saying the anchor babies with their nice USA birth certificates are going to be deported. Not until the 14th amendment is interpreted correctly.
This is more liberal hypocrisy -- while trying to encourage and reward *certain* illegals, those that will surely vote democrat each and every time, you want to crucify this woman for her parents coming here illegally. Only because you disagree with her views --- very much like Obama using the IRS to shut down opposition.
If she had a (D) next to her name, the right wing hate crew would be in a complete outrage with their pitchforks and torches demanding she and her whole family be immediately deported.
My thoughts on anchor babies haven't changed - they are Americans -but apparently, based on replies here, right wing views do change and excuses are made when it suits them. "The left" isn't calling for her deportation - just laughing at the right wing hypocrisy.

But since she has an R next to her name, the left is out in full force trying to discredit her with something her parents did a half century ago.
Again -- adult anchor babies aren't going to be deported. Illegals and the kids they smuggle in should be.
I don't understand why democrats are so consumed with starting threads about republicans, whom they claim to hate.
I liked what I saw of Mia, but I don't believe she's even running for office, so why the spew? As far as I know, she's nobody's darling. Not at this point. Maybe later.
But no, to Ds it's all about tearing down someone else instead of building up their own.

There were about 3.2 million illegals in US during Reagan's amnesty, so I am not sure where you get your 300K. You mean there were still 300K after the legalization?
