Just out of curiosity, do you think a military coup is possible in the US if things get bad enough? Or if, for example, Washington was in the hands of enemy influences?

I guess that's kind of a show-stopper.

I don't think that's a worry for now. All I can say at this point is keep watching what u.s. defense secretary Hagel says and does.

As the supercomputer (WOPR) concluded at the end of the movie "War Games":

"A strange game........The only winning move is not to play".

He's been pretty low key, for which I have a lot of respect. I hope, however, that it's the sort of iron fist in the velvet glove low key.

I wish OTHER political key figures had his experience and temperament. He tends to research first, asks questions, then reacts if needed.

Lmao, sort of reminds of obama and putin in a box! We should be glad it's only fiction. Funny movie though.

During the Cold War Reagan simply out-spender Russia and forced them into financial ruin. A nuclear war would be the end of Russia and the U.S. The world would be left to the Chinese, Middle East extremists and third world cannibals. In the end the Asmats will probably be the last to survive.

If Nuclear War happens, then kies: I live in Lower Manhattan, probably one of the first places to get completely wiped off the map. Which means I won't have to live through the fallout and my death will be quick and somewhat painless. Unlike those in Jersey and the rest of the U.S.
