Being cautious is advisable. Issuing a meaningless sanction is laughable, as the entire world has witnessed.

Putin made a rather foolish 'chess move' today by declaring sanctions on Obamas political opponents in US, which did nothing but help them realize that the WH and Congress are on the same side on this issue.

Bad move Vladimir, but don't worry, the American partisan hacks will still hump your legs.

Obama is oblivious to the world. First Obama told everyone in the world that Russia wasn't the number one geopolitical for of the US. Mind you, he said that knowing that Pootin tried to cause a run on the GSEs during the 2008 financial bubble burst by trying to get China to sell of its stakes in those entities at the same time Russia was. Then he made the infamous "more flexibility" comment on a hot mic when he was talking to Medvedev. Then he continued funding revolution in the Ukraine and was somehow caught off guard by Pootin when he intervened in the Crimean coup.

It doesn't get much worse than playing Kennedy's role in Vienna...

It just happens to be the way EU wants to play it, so no, they are not laughing. No one is laughing, except you and Putin, but Putin is not laughing at US, he is laughing at people like you who jumped on his side without him even asking. There is nothing like free help.

Sen. Landrieu is Obama's political opponent? She's an endangered Dem Senator in the 2014 midterms. Better rethink that. Seems you could also benefit from Rogozin's advice to Obama.

So why didn't the EU issue sanctions blocking the listed Russians' access to assets held in the EU?

Instead, Obama went on the world stage and made a fool of himself by issuing sanctions against Russians who hold no assets in the U.S.

Did I say all of them are his opponents? No, I did not, but Putin declared sanctions on many of his opponents like Boehner and McCain.

A smart chess-move would have placed sanctions only to his political allies, not his opponents.

Maybe Putin is not as "brilliant" as you advertise him to be.

He's laughing at a "more flexible" Obama who is downsizing the military to pre-WWII levels while at the same time abadoning allies and missile defense for those allies.

Obama effectively did what Kennedy did in Vienna and now Obama gets his own Berlin Wall and there's no doubt he'll get his own Cuban Missile Crisis along with his own Bay of Pigs.

Why are you still talking about Pootin's muscles anyways?
