There’s a disgusting pattern emerging of Democrats attacking Republican candidates’ records of service to the nation. Sen. Mark Pryor (D-AR) recently complained that Rep. Tom Cotton (R-AR), his general election opponent, has a “sense of entitlement” because of his military service.
“There’s a lot of people in the Senate that didn’t serve in the military,” Pryor, who never served and is the son of a politician, told NBC News. “I think it’s part of this sense of entitlement that he gives off is that almost as like ‘I served my country, therefore elect me to the Senate.’ That’s not how it works in Arkansas.”
A “sense of entitlement” for mentioning your service record? That takes some serious chutzpah. It had the Morning Joe crew shaking their heads in disbelief.

Not that this is the worst thing we've seen from Democrats. But to seriously attack someone for even mentioning they served, unlike one who would bash someone for it, is despicable. Shame on them and the liberals that will come in here and defend it. Not that we should be shocked. You people will defend comparing non-liberals to suicide bombers/terrorists. You are that disgusting and pathetic.
Um, no one was bashing Kerry for serving. It was his actions and words they bashed him for related to it all. Nice try though.
Oh, please. Go read the definition of Swiftboating. It was a despicable smear of Kerry's military record.
The right has absolutely no credibility on this topic. If you had any sense of decency or honesty you would quit this thread right now, but I won't hold my breath.

No, Mr. Pryor. It's ‘I served my country, therefore I have proven the following: I am willing to sacrifice my personal well being to do what is the best for my nation, I believe in duty to my country, I am willing to engage in hard work, I know what I am asking of service members if I vote to send them into battle, I have been a wage earner, I have leadership experience, I have had to make tough choices before. Therefore, you should elect me to the Senate because I want continue to serve this nation, just in a different way'

Two wrongs have never made a right. The treatment of Max Cleland was appalling. However, my issue with Kerry was not his service, but his actions and words afterwards.

Hearing you Democrats talking about decency and honesty is a real knee-slapper.
I guess we should forget the chickenhawks attacks on Kerry.
Those "chickenhawks" at least actually served in combat, so if that's your primary objection to the attacks, your objection is misplaced. What's more, his campaign explicitly invited the scrutiny from those who served with him.
As for the Swiftboat campaign against Kerry who started his political career with his own vicious smear campaign against his fellow servicemen... all I can say about that is when the tide goes out, it comes back in.
