All the Property that is necessary to a Man, for the Conservation of the Individual and the Propagation of the Species, is his natural Right, which none can justly deprive him of: But all Property superfluous to such purposes is the Property of the Publick, who, by their Laws, have created it, and who may therefore by other Laws dispose of it, whenever the Welfare of the Publick shall demand such Disposition. He that does not like civil Society on these Terms, let him retire and live among Savages. He can have no right to the benefits of Society, who will not pay his Club towards the Support of it

Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

That's nice. It's just that Churchill, due to him not being a complete idiot, would never equate income tax with socialism. It takes a Sowell to do that.

Indeed. He argues any taxation is greed, but it is a clumsy argument, because every government has Constitutionally mandated expenses which need to be financed. Sowell still has a long way to go. He is what the Bible calls "a milk drinker" (like a baby), and not yet ready to eat meat (like adults, experienced people).

It is so funny watching the takers defend themselves, never once considering that by taking from others that which they did not earn is greed.

Socialism holds the key to preserving society as we know it. Capitalism uplifts countries out of poverty.. socialism is what will keep them from reverting back to it.

Unfettered capitalism leads to collapse and social unrest. The struggle between the haves and the have nots has always led to societal collapse in history. It has never allowed society to persist. Why will today be any different?

It is greed to hoard all resources in the hands of the 1% at the expense of the 99%. Eventually this system is unsustainable, and shatters.

The key to sustainability is a delicate balance of socialism and capitalism. We currently need more socialist regulations.

The American people are kind and believe in helping those who fall on hard times. This is done through charity and taxation. But those people who are taking the help are now demanding more than those paying are willing to graciously give. Many refuse to do anything to help themselves move out of poverty, they just come back for more handouts. The poor now have become greedy.

Do you have any evidence to back this up?

Welfare spending has declined steadily since 2010.

Corporate welfare... that's a different story

"We find that the combined effect of government tax and spending policies is to redistribute more than $2 trillion annually from families in the top 40 percent of the income distribution to those in the bottom 60 percent. Federal tax and spending policies comprise more than two-thirds of the total amount of redistribution and contributed to a slight increase in the total amount of redistribution over the past decade.

Interestingly, we find that the biggest net beneficiaries of this increase in redistribution from 2000-2012 are middle-income families and working lower-income families (those in the second quintile). These were the families most targeted by economic stimulus programs and more generous tax credits. Of the $2 trillion in income that was redistributed in 2012, nearly half was paid for by families in the top 1 percent."

Provide evidence for this wild assertion.

As much as I do not agree with most CEO's compensation you do not know how charitible they are.
