At least the alpaca farmer slapped the guy on the head for stressing his animals. He would have been shot in the US.
FYI, that was a really stupid thing to say.

People don't drive snowmobiles in the inner city. That's where the intentional homicides take place. And for the record, the U.S. murder rate is slightly more than 4 times higher than Canada's.

I'm thinking that it was the threat of a gaping chest wound that did the job.

LOL, where did you get that number from? Doing a quick check on Wikipedia the murder rate in Canada is 1.6, the US is 4.8.

4.8 / 1.6 = 3 ... or 3 times higher.

If we remove the murders amongst the black population from equation the US rate is roughly halved bringing it inline with most other industrialized nations.

The farmer sounds like a responsible gun owner, shoot only when necessary, unlike the Zimmerman's of the world who are eager to kill someone.

Kudos to the farmer for assessing the situation first.

What the ????
What's with the "if we remove" or "if we omit"? You get to remove squat! It's all part and parcel of the rich and colourful tapestry that is America.

About half the convicted murderers in the US are black. Is it a black problem or a poverty problem? Canada's poverty rate is about 1/2 the US rate.

You can ignore the facts if you want but that won't change them.

Well, the high homicide rate of the Inuit and First Nations are spiking our numbers considerably, but you don't see us whining about omitting them. They're Canadians.
