It doesn't matter much. The Democrats will win the WH again in 2016 so there'll be more chances to replace SCOTUS judges.

Only Bork was rejected by the Senate.

Miers was rejected by the person who nominated her (Bush) because of opposition from her OWN party.

Baird withdrew her own nomination.

Yes. I'm also, in case you haven't noticed by reading any of my other posts, not a right wing fringe loon, so I'm ok with the Democrats appointing SCOTUS judges. Heck, even Republicans sometimes appoint good ones, look at Souter.

Court should never ever be political...............just another problem in the madness that is the USofA. I have commented to you but don't read your posts daily. That doesn't change the fact. If our supremes ever become one sided then we may as well check it in...........either side.

The members of the court are appointed and approved by politicians who choose them because of their perceived politics. That's just how it is. You gotta better way to choose the judges? What are we going to do, vote on them? Yeah I'm sure that would make them less political. I guess we could pick names out of a hat, but that seems rather arbitrary.
