Why is it that when a white person dresses in "black face" the controversy that follows makes national news, but nobody seems to care when a black person does it?
You are quoting the 6th largest newspaper in the country. Contradicted yourself by simply posting the link.

What?!?!?!? Go and re-read what you just posted, lol Are you seriously holding white people accountable for the actions of their white ancestors hundreds of years ago?

No, it's not even remotely the same as if say..... Justin Timberlake, went "black face" and put out an album called "black people party music"... If that were to happen there would be riots in the streets.

you know, the whole "no justice, no peace" speel...

Unintended irony.

To be fair, many a white person in the entertainment industry have made themselves up to look black for various reasons. And I don't mean "blackface", which people should know means something very specific.

I don't care about any of it myself.

For the same reason it's OK for blacks to call themselves and each other the N word but not OK for whites. It's all part of the whiny entitlement attitude that makes most of us indifferent.

Not quite hundreds of years. Back when I was a kid in the 1950's, blackface performers were common on TV variety shows. Over in Europe, there are still folks who perform in blackface.

If Justin Timberlake put on blackface, there wouldn't be riots in the streets. Get real. When was the last time any entertainer's trick look caused riots in the streets? Name one instance.

I thought Nick Cannon made a pretty good white boy, what with the orange wig and all. The picture amused me, pretty much like Devo, when they all wore flower pots for hats or when Madonna wore a bra that made her look like she got shot in the back by a couple of rockets.

A little sauce for the goose doesn't do any harm. Since performers always find some way to call attention to themselves, we've all seen them go naked, get all Technicolored with tattoos, dress up as monsters, and once in a while, bite a chicken's head off onstage. This is a record album! In 6 months, it will be just another one on the pile. No big deal, except for the drama queens who always try to kick up hurricanes in teapots.

Nick cannon is an ass.

Plain and simple.

No, it's not okay. It's disgusting, it's juvenile, it's inappropriate. It's wrong.

IMHO Cannon is bored and has no true career. He needed/wanted a way to gain some publicity for himself. And somehow, someway, someone in his life (Mariah Carey? His parents? Manager? Friends?) validated his decision, and he then proceeded forward. Honestly, I wouldn't give him the time of day. Perhaps this is the way of getting someone to do that.

Part of that is the fact that Nick Cannon is no where near the level of stardom as Justin Timberlake.

Nick Cannon's last album sold 200,000 copies total. Timberlake's sold 968,000 the first week it was released.
