No, "gangsta rap" was never a real sub-genre, any more than "Sopranos" or "Breaking Bad" were "gangsta". We All know that those shows were just entertainment, and rap music is the same.
Rap is nothing more than crap with the "c" removed.
LOL that all of you are showing your racist/stereotypical ways by condemning a "rapper" when Pharell is not even a rapper primarily, he is moreso known as a music producer.
Also that someone called him a "boy" and he is over 40 years old.
