I teach Spanish for a living. I generally teach Latin American standard Spanish which does not use the vosotros form. But Latin American and Castillian are virtually the same thing, with the difference of some words used (usually of indigenous origin).
You also try to teach the Spanish that will be of the most use to the students. In Texas, that obviously means they should be teaching a dialect from Andalucia, right?

You're obviously not a teacher, so you know nothing about which you speak. When teaching culture, you use anything at your disposal. This is a non issue - stop trying to make it political.
