I am offended by 'American cheese' as both an American and a cheese lover. It is really neither and its ambiguos title confuses people about the nature of actual real cheese that is American.

Wouldn't the term 'invasive' be offensive to illegal immigrants? Or since their arrival was not of their own accord/ they were brought here, might they be more accurately termed as 'Anchor Carp'?

The Minnesota State Senate approved a measure Monday that would rename the Asian Carp because they felt it could be offensive to “Asian” people or portray them in a negative light.
They have officially re-named the Asian carp – because it’s from Asia, folks – to the “invasive carp.”
How on earth they think changing the actual name of an animal will somehow make a group of people feel better about themselves is beyond me.

Judging by this and the rantings of Michelle Bachmann it seems someone should be taking a serious look at the water supply in Minnesota. Or maybe it's just the brain-freeze from MN winters?
