And there's no inflation, Bud.
No I'm not but you're gonna put words in my mouth regardless because you believe what you believe.
You have your own sense of "logic" here. QE kept rates low and allowed banks to borrow and speculate to make money back..stealth bailout if you will.

Go read up on "bread and circuses" to understand the effect of welfare.
Basic Income is pure welfare.

We already have basic income. It's called fractional reserve banking.

Hmmmm....I smell a progressive. Basic minimum income? And you talk about means testing taking away people's incentive to work!! This is socialism at its best. In the organization I currently work for we means test for benefits, have for years, and it doesn't/hasn't created extra bureaucracy. We do income matching with organizations such as Social Security and the IRS. No, I say social security should still be for people over the age of such and such and should be means tested. Our social security chest is currently empty, full of IOUs so I have been told so many times. My deduction probably goes directly to pay for some senior or disabled person. Cut down crime? Hah, yeah that's a laugh. We have people currently receiving 50%-100% tax free disability checks that are flat broke within the first two weeks because they spend all their money on booze, drugs, gambling, prostitutes. I know this for a fact, I interact with these people. How are you going to deal with them once you put this money in their hands? Oh, I forgot, another socialist solution....free substance abuse/gambling addiction rehabilitation paid for by the taxpayers....right? You socialist/progressives are terribly liberal with other peoples' money aren't you? Maybe you should start by donating your whole paycheck to the cause.

And just how much is your "monthly check" from these commercial banks ?
And if we "already have it" then there's no need to push the issue right ?

You just ended the thread debate
Work for 30 years and you get your "basic income".

Do your research on monetary policy.

You know what? I did do that last night. I knew a bit about it, but I thought, "Okay, maybe I am missing something", so I went and brushed up.

What Happy Texan said is what I was going to get to, about how the money is not flowing to the citizens, but once it does, you will indeed see inflation....so he beat me to it. I was going to lead you out, slowly, because I'm evil like that, while he just went for the kill.

The fact is, you are the one who doesn't know what you're talking about, and since you refuse to listen to actual facts, there's no point in continuing.

I don't need to. You say to exclude Zimbabwe but that's exactly what that country did..print money when they needed it.

And that is why the US never saw the hyperinflation that others warned about.
The money went to the banks (national, multinational and sovereign).

Zimbabwe is not an industrialized country.

Inflation is a concern if there's not much economic productivity.
