There are going to be different versions of the details of practically anything if the participants do not agree on the details.

[this is not new]

Putin/Obama..that one is a coin toss but I'm going with the Pope and the US "war on Catholics" version for that meeting.
There is no evidence that either is lying since we dont have a transcript, but to speak specifically to your point. the Vatican says they spend time one 3 issues, they never talk about how much time was set aside for each. President Obama simply says they didnt spend much time on it.

it wouldnt be hard for both sides to be right.

Funny because dealing in ambiguity is also pretty bogus....you can never be wrong, only fooled..or something.

Believe very little of what you hear, 50% of what you read, and 10% of what you see, and you will be pretty close to the truth.

If I had to estimate the probability on who is lying, O or the pope, I'd go 100% that it's O.

You don't know who to believe? Seriously?

On one hand, you have the pope who has nothing to gain either way.

On the other hand, you have a politician who has already received the "lie of the year" award and whose poll numbers have been falling.

Let's see, which one is more likely to have spun their conversation to make himself look better?

I go with the "each has an agenda" [obvious] conclusion

Please. Obama's being lying to us since somewhere around 2008.
You expect him to have any creditability with the majority of Americans ?

Neither side is telling the truth. Half-truths are not truths, and half-truths are what we're getting from both of them.

Zero credibility for each.

As for the Pope, I'd believe most of what the Pope says, but not because his perspective on everything is the Truth, only that he sees it that way.
