That was the era when "compassionate conservatism" was not grounds for being called a RINO, and volla, Reagan did something not done in the TP era-He won two races for POTUS.

We have people in this country that are not capable of taking care of themselves so those of us who can are forced to pay AGAIN, to pay their way. It's like having a bunch of adult kids.
