You can critique libertarian economics any way you please, but the libertarian principle of self-ownership is not a novelty, and was not adopted to appeal to anyone in particular--especially not leftists, many of whom were in a humorless, ascetic phase when libertarian principles were first being expounded.

Libertarians want government totally out of marriage, not legalization of gay marriage.
Libertarians want all drug laws repealed, not just legalization of marijuana.
True Libertarians want government out of most things ( if not all), not government approvals.

Libertarianism does not support any notion that corporations deserve welfare in any form.
Corporations get zero special treatment.
The wealth gap would significantly reduce under libertarian policies.

Yes, they are more liberal than Dems on those issues.

ending the 'war on drugs' is not a precedent for repealing all drug laws.

Obviously you are not informed of what libertarianism is or those who truly adhere to libertarian ideals.

Ill give you a hint- Michelle Bachmann and Rick Santorum do not hold any libertarian ideals.
Oh I am well aware libertarian and liberal platforms have some common things. But there are many things about the two that are different. Bachmann and Santorum are far right wing politicians, just like the Tea Party is a far right wing group.

While I don't have a problem with gays and stoners and gay stoners, I have a huge problem with libertarians' pro-corporate agenda and their desire to sell out the commons to the highest bidder, leaving the most vulnerable people in society to rot.

Libertarianism is counter-revolutionary. All their platform would do is accelerate neoliberal policies of giving everything to the people who already have everything. People like Ron Paul make Reagan look reasonable, or even like a goddamn pinko.

How do you figure? True libertarians don't pander to the pro-corporate agenda. If anyone has it's the 2 main parties who have done so with their bailouts of the auto and the financial industry.

30K new people registered at Libertarian, making it 360K. Not really something to brag about, nor is it going to win any elections.
