State/Fed............there is a difference. You now pay for everybody instead of the states paying for themselves.

I guess everybody has missed the entire point of this thread. WE are now paying for everyone inmates included. The state used to pay for it now the fed (taxpayers across the land) do. I guess that is a good thing to some. Not me.

The taxes I used to pay to state/county no longer pay for their healthcare, and instead the taxes I pay in Medicaid pay for their healthcare.
I'm not sure how I'm any worse off.

Feds get involved it will be X amount per inmate.............just like X amount per student. So it will be prudent for the states to incarcerate as many as possible to get X amount of dollars. Sad times.

What difference does it make if you pay for inmate care out of your right pocket or left pocket?
If it was that simple I would agree, but once again, if the county/state has no obligation to take care of those who they inprison, whats to limit them from just imprisoning individuals for stupid crap?

If you are paying for it, you want a yard thats manageable. If the towship is paying, then you dont give a rats ass over the size, and the features you install in your yard..
