We get more people in prison, and have to spend more as a result because you know dam well the local taxes arent going to drop as the cost moves to the federal government.
Only liberals don't understand this concept. Of course they love the government taking over so they cheer on not even knowing what they themselves have to pay for. The same taxes they paid to incarcerate these clowns now is taken on by the feds so do they get a recourse? Of course not more armored vehicles and rifles need to be bought or whatever. No tax is ever returned or done away with. Ever. They don't care it seems. The money tree is their salvation. It will not last much longer.

Supreme Court orders release of over 30,000 prisoners in CA to … improve health care « Hot Air

The reductions will improve the delivery of health care services to the remaining inmates, claims the majority:

The Supreme Court on Monday endorsed a court order requiring California to cut its prison population by tens of thousands of inmates to improve health care for those who remain behind bars

Evidence..........schools get X amount of dollars per child. Doesn't matter if the kid can even write or read they get X amount. The more kids you get the more money you get from the feds. It appears this is the way the prison system is gong............hey the X kids will end up in prison too so the states can get that X amount of money for their lives. Just pathetic.

This whole thread had lefties talking about it being a wash, so even if your property taxes fell, other taxes would have to go up to pay for it.

No it wouldnt

he order mandates a prison population of no more than 110,000 inmates, still far above the system’s designed capacity.

There are more than 142,000 inmates in the state’s 33 adult prisons, meaning roughly 32,000 inmates will need to be transferred to other jurisdictions or released.
