Some people think its already in the process of becoming one. Whether it is or isn't, what would it be like if it became a communist country?

What would a bird be like if it was in a turtle's shell?

Not if it was an eagle. Then it would be flying with armor.

In that case it would be like nature's version of the predator drone.

A nation working to a cordinated plan, concentrating its resources to combat a exteral threat . A nation where fuel is rationed, consumer goods are scarce because national priorities had taken presidence. A nation where legal and constitutional protections are suspended to deal with those who interfer with the national efforts. We don't have to imagine what a Marxist run America would look like , this was the reality of wartime America during the Second World War (1941-45). To fight the Axis powers, the American economy was put under the control of a War Production Board, production and sale of cars and trucks for the civilian market was suspended, 15 million Americans found themselves in a military iniform, everything for civilian use was rationed and union and corproate leaders who didn't cooperate with the Federal Government were jailed. The key industries were nationalized, property seized, parts of the Bill of Rights suspended and the flow of money put under strict controls (wages ,prices, forced savings, a massive release of war bonds, increased taxes ets) for example the US Army controled American railroads and railroad employees were put into uniform so a military chain of command could be established. The government built whole new industries (i.e. synthetic rubber) and the means to build nuclear weapons in less than 3 years. We even built and operated internment camps to ensure that people who loyalty was in question could not form a 5th column to disrupt the war effort. The thing about this "war communism" is that the American people were behind it after the nation was attacked by Japan in 1941. Under the right circumstances, Communism can be very popular as you would have found few of our citizens who rose up in opposition to the war communism of War time America in 1942. If the nation is really threatened, there is no better way to run a nation than communism. The record of the Arsenal of Democracy is a testement to what can be done when our system of Checks and Balances is traded for a milkitary commision or a a powerful task oriented Board with the power to compel action.

The U S is not moving towards communism because we have full blown fascism { co operation between the state and corporations}. This is discussed frequently how both parties do the bidding of the big banks and corporations. Why would the establishment ruin their game with communism?
