Very few posters are from BC, and you are wrong our carbon tax is popular ....

The tax has actually become quite popular. "Polls have shown anywhere from 55 to 65 percent support for the tax," says Stewart Elgie, director of the University of Ottawa's Institute of the Environment. "And it would be hard to find any tax that the majority of people say they like, but the majority of people say they like this tax."

Why doesn't Australia like their carbon tax then? Your claims don't add up.

These people on the other side of the world don't like it therefore nobody likes it?
Talk about fallacies... this is one of the most basic.

BC is pretty left wing... and there is a much stronger environmentalist movement there so it wouldn't surprise me... they probably like the idea of doing the right thing.

But I don't think taxes are ever going to be popular with the routine obsessed car dependent majority... the point isn't to make people enjoy themselves, the point is to take a little responsibility for our actions.

Try reading the site I linked to, then you will understand why it works, how it works and why it's popular...They are not claims, they are facts.

Cars are a necessary evil. I wouldn't give mine up, and neither should anyone else have to. Vehicles are what delivers things to places, etc, etc.

Try paying attention to what others say and why they don't want what you're shoveling.

Yes, this is the problem.
People are selfish, lazy and entitled, and you are a perfect example of that.

I see you missed the other part of what I said.

Wow, because I drive a vehicle I am supposedly selfish, lazy, and entitled. That sounds like arrogant bicyclist talk. No wonder why no one takes you climate change alarmists seriously. You constantly insult everyone that won't buy your agenda.

Actually here in BC (A large province with a small spread out population we are very car dependent) We pay more at the pump, but it is returned through reduced income taxes....Since the carbon tax was begun we now have the lowest income tax rate in Canada....The carbon tax is revenue neutral, which means that every dollar collected is returned through reduced individual and business taxes. The government keeps none of it.
