The Democrats have the Republicans in a trick bag.

Pass it and the conservative true believers go nuts and sit out the next election. Or nominate someone with no chance of winning in the general election. Or even better for the Democrats, a 3rd party candidate runs and really ****s up the vote.

Defeat it and the Democrats have a ready made issue combining racism, sexism and a war on women.

Politics is a game of strategy. The goal is to win elections.

The problem lies with the fact the Republicans allowed themselves to be put into this situation.

This type of strategizing goes on at all levels, not just federal.

That's your choice. But if equal work for equal pay means you have to pay someone with a masters the same as someone with a bachelors for equal work, then count me out of equal work for equal pay.

Problem with the media is they are all rah-rah for idiot liberal programs no matter what the economic consequences. You can't stop stupid from the left with the media backing them up.

That is the intent. Obama's play is so obvious.

Man: Does a great job, shows up on time, gets a 4% raise.
Woman A: Does an ok job, many times she is late, gets a 2% raise.
Woman B: Does a good job, always on time, gets a 4% raise

Already the woman A makes less than man. There is a law suit waiting to happen. Legislation like this can not be done.

But his example involved paying a woman with a master's less than a kid with an 8th grade education! I have a really hard time believing the kid was a better worker at the same job.

So.....if McDonalds hires a down and out college grad to do the same work a person with only a high school diploma does.....they should pay them more?

No. NO NO NO!

What about so called "professional students"?

Great at navigating the educational system, but not so great at applying what they have learned to an actual job situation.

A person should be paid by the job that they do, not by what level of education they have attained.
