I started to put this in the rancher thread as this relates to what went on there but I figure there is still more to that story that will unfold.

There is no such thing as the government or any other entity deciding where you can exercise your free speech rights and where you can't.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — The latest in a string of successful court challenges to college "free speech zones" is unfolding in Virginia, where lawyers are negotiating a settlement in the case of a student who was barred from preaching on campus.

There was also a case last year, I believe, where a student on a college campus was vindicated after the college said he was illegally handing out copies of the Constitution outside of a designated free speech zone.

“Free speech zones” made their latest appearance at last week’s Republican and Democratic National Conventions. Ever since 1988, party conventions have established zones cordoned off from the general convention area for those who feel a need to protest, petition or exercise other forms of free speech.
