By the way...Nice Strawman.
CA has done what is in essence the same thing with the "roster". If you can't buy it, or own it realistically it disappears as a ban even if the word ban never gets used.

Speaking of NY I was watching a segment on the national news (which I rarely watch) this morning where former NYC Mayor Bloomberg spoke about using his money to "go on the road" and try to sell firearms background checks and keeping guns out of the hands of criminals, minors and mentally ill (don't we have laws restricting sale of firearms to these people already?). He blathered on for about 5 minutes but said something to the effect of he doesn't want to take people's hunting firearms away etc etc. That all sounds good if that is all there is to it. However, that is how it all generally starts, doesn't it?

Judge strikes down bullet limit portion of Gov. Cuomo's gun law - NY Daily News

Thats how it all starts.. Just shows that it has nothing to do with trying to stop criminals or reduce crime. Thats what this moron was trying to pass. Really? then a judge shot it down.

Nothing new here, every right comes with restrictions although some choose to believe otherwise when it comes to the 2nd Amendment.

Quote:
ALBANY -- A state judge has ruled that New York's 2013 gun control law is
constitutional because there is no "absolute" right to own a firearm.

The activist who lost the decision promised to appeal what he sees as a state
law that infringes on the right to bear arms under the U.S. Constitution.

Acting Supreme Court Justice Thomas McNamara cited a civil rights law that
said the U.S. Constitution's 2nd Amendment reference to the right to bear arms
"is not absolute and may be limited by reasonable governmental restrictions . .
. the right is not a right to keep and carry any weapon whatsoever in any manner
whatsoever and for whatever purpose."

7th district would disagree with you. NY is nothing but communist run , Bloomberg, Cuomo, and the corrupted democrats. NY is ranked #1 in the USA for the most corruption and you hail them as angels? Lol

Because he was breaking the law. It isn't that hard of a concept to understand, and if you charge law enforcement with your guns blazing, you will be shot.

Who charged law enforcement ? So when you are legally able to carry a gun and walking towards police, they have the right to shoot a citizen? Is that what you are saying?

What are you so afraid of?

Th US is a political entity. The government takes care of the infrastructure, social safety net, defence, etc.

The profit sector has a lot of power in this country, far too much, and is the real threat.

So strange. The power of corporate propaganda, apparently.
The support for guns in American is not just a "right" thing. Lots of Democrats, lots of women, non-hunters, support the right to own a gun.

If it was just a right thing - Obama and his supporters would have already gotten gun legislation passed.
