Agreed tho word was Clinton still had high popularity numbers then, Obama doesn't even now.
As Lordbalfour pointed out Clinton's lowest #'s were lower than Oama's low point, though I do agree at the time shortly before the impeachment saga Clinton's #'s were higher than Obama's ae now (Clinton was in the upper 50's for most of 1997), however his numbers did jump considerably during the whole saga, going up to 73 in late 1998. It dropped back a bit and he was generally in the 60's for his last two years in office ending at 66%. (which while off the high's was almost 10 points higher than where he was prior to the impeachment proceedings)
Nonsense. The Republicans aren't going to impeach or even TRY to impeach anyone. Gimme a break.
Do you realize how hard impeachment is to carry out? Even if Republicans had every seat in congress, they still ain't gonna try it.
Stop dreaming. You guys toss that impeachment word around so much that you've lost sight of how rare it is in American politics.
The operative word is "threat." You know...the idea that it might not be a good idea to willfully defy the law if the opposition has the "threat" of impeachment to hang over your head for doing so. That apparently didn't quite sink in with you, and many others on this thread.

So what you are saying is the House will continue to do nothing, Republican threats no longer mean anything.

Yep, I think you've summed up the House Republicans quite well. They talk and talk and talk, but accomplish absolutely nothing. Then they go on vacation for two weeks.
Even if the Republicans take the Senate in November, it will likely switch back in 2016 with Hillary Clinton as President for 8 years, so fundamentally nothing will change all that much.
She's looking way too sickly lately to run, granted she would have been a far better president than Obama, but her time has passed.
Why would Obama defy national law? The Republicans are just full of empty threats, there will be no impeachments.
Exactly. Some of the fringe types (Louie Gomhert) may bring it up, but nothing will come from it, nor will any of the leadership bring it up. The Republicans know in Congress how much the stuff with Clinton backfired and hurt them, they aren't going to attempt it over some nonsense again.
