Which American "far right" leaders have said they admire him?

Because he is white and hates gays. That's all.

For all their talk about freedom, they'll happily submit to a dictator with conservative principles.[/quote]

Heck of a job, Vlad.

And as for the claim that our leaders are "wishy-washy flakes": would you like Barack Obama better if he started censoring opposition TV stations and websites, throwing opposition leaders in jail on trumped-up charges, murdering journalists, sending military units into neighboring countries (while lying about doing so) in order to grab bits of territory, obtaining -- through fraud -- an overwhelming majority in Congress, and tinkering with the Constitution to allow himself 14+ years in office?

You people call Obama (who has done none of those things) a "tyrant" and a "dictator," while Putin (who HAS done ALL of those things) is a great hero.

Makes no sense.
Easy. Obama is an evil black liberal that must be opposed at all costs. It is not a secret that hatred and opposition of Obama has racial undertones in it as well.

Putin is a dictator, and a ruthless oligarch. Exactly what our politicians are striving to become.

You are nothing but a race baiter. Obama has failed because of his policy, not because he's black. Though he's hidden behind his blackness often.

He's the whitest politician I've ever seen!

I guess that makes me a racist, huh?

I don't think you are being fair to Russia or to Putin. Putin is FAR from perfect, but he has been beneficial to Russia.

The middle class grew under Putin.
GDP grew under Putin.
Incomes increased under Putin.
The private market grew under Putin.
Putin established a rainy day fund.

You have to remember that Russia has only had capitalism for 25 years, but didn't really start to improve until 2000/02.

As a matter of full disclosure, my mom is from Russia and I still have family there, so I could be biased.

I don't get that either.

Not all of them are. A quick look on Stomfront website would state why many dislike Putin.

Did he actually say he admired him, or just that he's winning the political "game"? Perhaps the Canadian can tell us?

Either way, that's one person up against a larger number of GOP who have called Putin a thug and a bully, a fact pointed out here before. Yet, you all continue to push this false narrative. It's very disingenuous and demonstrates a motive that is dishonorable.

Default Why does the European far right admire Putin?

Charlemagne: Russia

As one commenter on that article points out, it's especially interesting that the European "nationalist" parties, which share a common aversion to the allegedly totalitarian EU (or the EUSSR as they like to call it) are supporting a man who wants to reconstitute the USSR.

Strange bedfellows. Or maybe they're not so strange.

Short answer: The lunatic fringe is incapable of self-analysis. They thrive on cognitive dissonance.

I'm not down with a totalitarian/authoritarian government, but I do believe in nationalism and cultural and ethnic homogeneity, and America can never have that as the multicultural mess that it is. I envy that in Russia and the leadership that is shown in Putin.
