More feminist propaganda being shoved down our throats. Makes me want to puke.

Kids are best off being raised by both parents, living in a society is based on family unit. If either the mother or father are deadbeats or druggies, chances are the kids are better off being raised by a single parent. Clueless fembots destroyed both and now are grasping for straws. So very sad.

Bottom line: there are no consequences for women being reckless. If she wanted to keep it he has no choice. If she wanted an abortion he had no choice. It is her body. Her choice. Her responsibilty. Just like it's his money. His choice. And his ability to walk. She knew the risk of sleeping with a man and that he might leave. I guarantee without the govt daddy taking care of these single mothers they wouldn't be having nearly as many out-of-wedlock kids with losers. They would be alot pickier about who they have kids with.

Times are a changin.

Some for the good and some for the bad.

For whatever reason men over the last 40 plus yrs haven't been keeping up with women in terms of education, jobs, careers, etc etc. Not sure where this is coming from. I understand the job market has tanked that last 8 yrs or so, but the historic trends over the last couple of decades have shown a shift in quality of living for people with less education/job skills. Back in the 70's people had more jobs and more money adjusted for inflation than they do now, this is all antedotal and I don't have charts or links to support this argument. Standards of living in a lot of ways were better.

There seems to be a host of socio-economics issues at play here. I've noticed several threads/article online about these issues in the black community, black women have been advancing in education and careers more so than black males for quite some time. Just look on this forum and you'll see a lot of black women complaining about the lack of available men in their same social economic strata.

It's interesting that now white women are now having articles written about them. This trend or shift or whatever it is is affecting white men now.

I don't know what it is... like I said it must be a whole host of things coming together.

The later part of the article talks about legistation and other measure designed to "punish women" in order to help ease the burden or keep women and men married.

I think something that has to happen that perhaps paternity should be established whether married or not, and the state needs to see about going after some of these sperm donors. I realize that the children are innocent and shouldn't suffer but at the same time the tax payer is left on the hook. I talk about socially liberal and fiscally conservative, this is a perfect example of what I'm thinking about.

You can live in the world and do whatever you want, within reason of course, but I don't want to be left footing the bill.

Marry, or don't marry, have tons of kids out of wedlock or without a commitment, not really my business, that being said, someone has to pick up the tab and I don't want to.

I've made some mistakes in my life, as others have too, but I have dealt with mine and contine to do so.

I think the general lessen of standards has contributed a lot to this stuff we see now.

The bottom line.... You wants to play... you's got to pay.....

If the father of their children is a deadbeat, a loser, or abusive (especially that), then I agree they are better off raising their children without him. It would be even better to not have children with guys like that in the first place, though.

I am currently working with opiate addicts who are taking Suboxone. You wouldn't believe the scuzzballs most of these women get pregnant to. Then they sit sucking on the welfare tit or working low paid jobs at McDonald's while their useless baby daddy's sit on their asses all day. Sometimes you can't fix stupid.

Seems to me that guys like that have zero problems spreading seed. Someone isn't choosing very wisely.

I think DNA testing as proof of paternity and attachment to birth certificate, could be a great start. However, it would also expose thousands of kids fathered by a wrong dude without his knowledge, which would lessen beta providers willingness to raise the kid. And that would be a big problem.

Keeping a baby isn't a consequence?
Having an abortion isn't a consequence?

In what world is this?!?!?

If he walks I hope the government hunts him down and takes what the taxpayers are covering. Make him work trash pick up on the side of highways if we have to.

No you cant fix stupid. I just wish there was a good way from preventing it from multiplying at record rates. Gene pool is getting little clouded.

Back in the 70s, CEOs didn't earn 354 times what the average worker does. Things were flatter then. When CEO pay increases 127 times faster than the average worker's (an increase of 725% vs 5.7% for workers) between 1978 and 2011, it's time to start looking at the system on which this country operates.

But then I suppose the thread will derail into a discussion of the evils of capitalism and some RWNJs calling me a socialist.

I agree with that, but it would have a huge impact on society, and probably not for the better.

There was good reason why in many states fathers weren't and aren't added to birth certificates, it is because there isn't the confidence of paternity established.

I know this isn't progressive, but I'm about ready for the forced temporary sterilization of male and females on public assistance.

At a minimum, you shouldn't get more SNAP/WIC/whatever for adding children.
