Taegan Goddard,
Real Clear Politics,
Daily Kos Elections,
local news.

Daily Kos Elections is probably the most partisan one, with that said I have yet to find another site that actually covers ever special election, has primary candidate lists, has detailed results on congressional races w/comparative presidential history totals, provides detailed analysis of state legislative districts, and posts complete quarterly fundraising totals.

Truly sad WND doesn't have an RSS [Atom] feed as I'd like to follow it daily.

Is there a such thing as a news source that does NOT cater to one ideology or another AND is not boring like CNN is?

I was going to say CSPAN until I got to the second half of the sentence.

I've always liked the News Hour on PBS.

If ya'll are still arguing left vs. right, you haven't figured out the problem yet.

The only way to get the truth without spin is to cross reference the story against multiple news outlets and extract the facts. Check out this AWESOME "Rap News" about news agencies... they knock it out of the park.

I get mine 100% from professional policy subscriptions like Congressional Quarterly, Politico Pro, insidehealthpolicy etc. With these services, you are paying for accurate and dispassionate reporting. Their content is not driven by trying to drive hits to get their ad revenue up. It is driven by catering to an audience that needs information to drive consequential decisions and cannot rely on the opinion-journalism that now passes for news.

Even the big media outlets like Fox, CNN, MSNBC, and the national broadcasters have become totally irresponsible sensationalist reporting. Cross referencing these news sources is only helpful for getting a sense of what 'hook' has resulted in higher viewership for their target demographic, not what is actually important.

I think the current devolution of news-media has more to do with the political divisions, and dumbing-down of America than any other element in our society. Throw in an inexhaustible source of completely unaccountable blogs and outrage-outlets that can promulgate utter bullsh*t throughout the internet in a matter of minutes, and an audience with an ever-decreasing attention span and warped barometer for reality and you get the mess that we see on so many topics in this subforum.

The only free source I use is CSPAN.
