This is very true indeed, Edward. I've come to realize that both sides of the coin (liberal/conservative) aren't that much different in their attitudes towards black people. Some are just more open about it than others.
You are wrong. White privilege shows itself in many ways, not just monetarily.
What's sad is that poor white people are so blinded by hatred and racism that they don't realize they have more in common with poor black people than they do the rich white Republicans they worship (and who use their lack of education to control them).

I know it sucks when you have to realize that the hero you hitched your wagon to has a very questionable character, but whenever someone starts out a sentence with "The Negro" and goes on to explain how they were fine people when they had to work (for, y'know, white folks) but now just can't handle themselves with all that easy access to food and shelter - yeah, then he's a big ol' racist. And if you choose to still march under his banner, it speaks to your judgment as well.

So if they drive out the last remaining rancher and his cattle, will the BLM stop doing all those things? The BLM will do all of those things no matter if there are any cattle pooping and eating grass. Which means the BLM pretty much does not do a damn thing, and it would save taxpayer dollars if private citizens owned and managed the land at their own expensive.
BTW, whatever did we do when millions of buffalo and antelope grazed there?
Yes, they will continue doing those things. They provide habitat monitoring and management services for grazing allotments and non-grazing allotments alike. The activities differ based on the land and its use, and those activities may change if the element of grazing is removed, but BLM will manage the land either way.
Additionally, since the land is an existing grazing allotment, another rancher could lease the rights to graze there (if Bundy's herd wasn't occupying it).
Bundy owns the 160 acre homestead property that is the "base property" for the allotment. While being the owner of the "base property" of an allotment gives you first rights of refusal on the property's grazing rights, it does not give you exclusive rights.
The BLM pursued a dialogue with Bundy for years affording him the opportunity to renew his lease, including delivering copies physically to him. I would say that between not renewing, not paying any fees, disavowing the existence of the Federal Government and being legally barred from the land by a permanent court injunction in 1998, he has sufficiently exercised his right of refusal.
There is scientific evidence developing that indicates that grazing is actually a beneficial activity for the desert environment. It helps manage invasive flora, and some of the best habitat for desert tortoise (the main protected species) are on lands that have been grazed for nearly 200 years. Overgrazing may be disastrous, but not grazing at all may have negative effects as well.
The reality remains, though, that the desert is marginal grazing land and we've had 3 years of droughts. Many herds have moved to greener pastures (like Nebraska) or the slaughterhouse.
