Just curious, because not EVERYTHING is about race.
If I hypothetically insult you and say your dumb, am I saying it because of your race OR because you can't do a task? You just happen to be black, but that is irrespective of my statement
In much the same fashion, one can be called racist for using the phrase "black boys" even if you're referring to boys* that happen to be black.
*As in under the age of 15 or so rather than a fully-grown person.
Some do, some don;t. Most of the ones I work with don't. They work hard, and are pretty cool to be around. I've seen some in the past that were all about it though. Really it depends on how they were raised, and their experiences.
I've had a white coworker recently that constantly pulled the race card, claiming that he was discriminated against for being white. Yes really. We let him go-not because he was white, but because he was a pain to work with.
I'm not offended when people identify racism. Most non racist don't have a problem with people claim disenfranchisement. It's a part of our lives.
True. What makes me cringe is when I hear things like "Bush hates blacks" after Katrina. Or being called a racist because you oppose things like busing and affirmative action.
